My FPS skills are the stuff of legends.
One wouldn't even see me. The dreaded sound of ping-ping-ping headshots was the only thing that disturbed the silence, making that silence eternal for the receiving end.

the nice thing about the uav plane thingy is, that snipers can stick there c4 granats on them and than fly it to the bomb spot and blow up a lot of enemy's:)
I found out how to spot enemy's yesterday, and am now officially a "q" spammer. I quite like the recon class, gonna do some levelling in that untill I know the maps better I think.
Also, I spotted a suspicious "Dr. Smegg" or something in the vicinity of Frozen4ever.
Beware of his curing, he's just passed the leeches state and now uses noobtubes for just about anything. Nice game this, 1st shooter since ET I really like. Hope they fix this network problems soon though.

I went recon so I can stabilize my k/d ratio somewhat before it's getting ubernoobish ;) . Also, without knowing the maps and wtf you have to do I kept running right into enemy groups, or took position with my back to a fixed mg, or enemies run into my neck on their way to the objective etc , so I try to hang back a bit for now and get to know how the maps flow from objective to objective.

I got the game but my PC is too crappy to run it/ I though tit might be before I brought it but I still wanted to try it. I did install it on a mates machine thou and played a good few hours.
First log in, I saw some guy and unloaded 2 full clips of my machine gun and then ran up to him and popped 4 shots at point blank range into him with my hand gun... Lesson 1 learnt: dont shoot team mates.
Im desperatly trying to invest in a new pc, but with no job its harder then you think.

You are pretty ace with photoshop from what I've seen, did you try some freelance stuff ? Maybe build a portfolio with volunteer work ? It doesn't pay, but if you have free time anyway it's a good start to build a name and it can give good leads. :)

My favorite gaming blog now has it's own bfbc2 server, and the good news is that it's passworded, allthough the password is publicized on the blog.

These are my spec's , and yes I know they are low. After all they were built out of my and a friends spare parts. Times have been hard the last few years, and my PC has come last on my priority list. If there is an upgrad eI can do which is not too expensive I will do it rather then buying a new system

Theres a few problems, Smeg could post a spare 4870 (which is an awesome vid card) but it probably holds a PCI-e connector and no AGP.
Your motherbord has an AGP slot for video.
Currently its kinda impossible to find a decent videocard which is good for the next 2 years of gaming on an AGP slot, as everything is ported to PCI-e.
Then 1gb of memory is LOW... even when running XP you should upgrade it.
The best solution imo would be (if smeg is so nice to send his vid card for a small fee or for free) to buy a new motherboard and a processor.
I probably have 2GB of average memory lying around which i could send you for free.
A cheap motherbord, maybe occassion, would be around 50-70 euros i guess... a good but cheap processor on it, probably around 50-100 euros.
So if your able to choke up 150 euro's, ill be happy to give you my spare memory, if smeg would pass the gfx card... everything else is swappable, only we need to make sure a possible new motherboard fits in your current case.
Im happy to sort things out for ya, but then we need some confirmation from smeg on the gfx card and yourself and your budget.

I did say my specs were low.. I am struggliung a little with money and it will take untill the end of next month to have 150 euros I can blow on PC.
There is 1 thing I can try but will still take a few weeks to find out. I will put that into action on monday.
With regards to my case I would be very surprised if a MLB did not fit in it..
I am not a hardware guy and never have been.. even when it was my job to build and repair them (Im just a good blagger) I will save my money for the next few weeks and lay off the weed..

Im not a hardware goeroe but this is something i can help with :)
If you have an opponent in your sights press "q" on your keybord. The target will be marked. If you press q while aiming at a objective you will give a squad order to attack or defend it (depending on the side you are on)

I dont think you can go for any cheaper solution as this if you want to play games like BC2.
Im pretty sure that no budget AGP card atm can deal with BC2.
I did say I did not know about hardware.. but yes I can build a PC.. I used to do 5 at a time.. I got it to a good speed of about 12 mins from everything fully box'd to inserting the CD to install windows. I think my record is about 7 mins.. lol the hardest bit is plugging in the case into the motherboard without instructions.

If you mean if you can use that 4870 on your current motherboard, then the answer is no.
Your current mobo has got an AGP slot for gfx cards, which is outdated.
Also PCI is slightly different from PCI-e.
You cant drop a PCI-e (which all gfx cards are more or less) in a PCI slot.

I'll agree there is no excuse for my current ratio.

This is an objective-based game, which means it's often more usefull to have a somewhat suicidal approach in order to, for instance, make a bomb plant or disarm one, push through defences and whatnot.
Example : you could have an attacking team consisting of only snipers, and while they'll probably end up with positive k/d ratio's they'll never ever win a round.

The trick is of course to do it without being suicidal :)
Clear objective by killing all around it, hten plant bomb and kill all that try to disarm it. Much more effective, not to mention great for your stats :p

Last night I was doing my normal sniper mode. I was a head pop up miles away, I took a shot and missed.. I lined up again, and serious I could see like 2 millemeters of a head.. and BAM headshot -15 team kill FFS !!

Well im guessing since Bikkel is in a clan with their own server, we will be hanging there quit alot, its not a crowded server so we can all login there without waiting.
You can find it by goign to your server browser and search for "Battle Legion" (case sensitive).
Other then that you can always check your friendslist and click the small black arrow behind a friends name to join the same server he is in.
p.s. Avoiding friendlyfire when your not sure if a target is friendly or enemy, press 'q' .. when the red thingie appears, shoot :D

Edit: Great I worked it out, but I happened to move my mouse and then got rid of m turn left and right command, but all is now fixed, i can stab people and break down doors and fences rather then finda way round ;D )

So I bought a new pc with 6GB memory, quadcore AMD Phenom X4, 1GB GPU, but I was puzzled why the fuck I could only play BFBC2 when I turned the resolution down to 1024*768 and all graphic options to the lowest settings - and even then it would turn to jerk-o-vision as soon as there was nearly a dustcloud in sight.
Turns out that lovely 1GB Radeon HD5450 GPU is at the bottom-scraping shit-end of the Radeon GPU spectrum. Why the flying fuck don't they just use a "higher number = better" paradigm when naming their cards ?! Jesus.
Time to add a new card I guess. :icon_angry: Anyone got some pointers for a good value/performance card ? A Sapphire something ?

I'm not that sure, I replaced my 4780 because the framerate made me very tired after 1-2hours, and the new 5970 runs it like uber smooth.

For BC2 the 4870 is fine om med/high settings on 1920/1080 but clearly not optimal.
5970 is definately close edge-cutting, its an X2 card (dual gpu) and still somewhat pricey?

Afaik, they have the python script from Gametracker there, ported to php. It doesnt seems to be completely flawless but if your a bit familiar with php it shouldn't be a real issue i think.

Yeah I used to have a page up for our favourite ET servers, highlighting the names of BB4E players so you knew where to join. I implemented qstat back then, which was written for quake engine servers iirc. It all became a bit redundant with the arrival of splatterladder, theallseeingeye and the likes.
Looks like DICE disclosed all the info you need for 3rd party developers to create query and admin tools, so there should be various language implementations popping up (bigbrotherbot looks like a pretty good example). You seem to need rcon admin login anyway if you want to query playerstat info besides some generic info though.

Well untill you enter the server the tanks are neither dead nor alive, the buildings are both demolished and standing up, and the cat is partly dead and alive.

Btw yesterday I had lots and lots of crashes in the BC2 client, is there some new patch orso, maybe a server one? Was rlly annoying.
Yeah I dabbled around a bit on the bb4e server with malolko and bikkeltje but it stayed a wasteland. Then after joining some other ones my client crashed about 4 times and I gave up for the night.
Silly thing was that ( I think ) one server actually managed to lock up our clients, at least mine and harkov's froze at the same time and needed to be killed with he app manager.
Patch the goddamn game.

Btw yesterday I had lots and lots of crashes in the BC2 client, is there some new patch orso, maybe a server one? Was rlly annoying.
Not sure, but if you start up your game with just the BC2.exe it doesnt update afaik.
I just start the game always with BF2updater.exe to be safe.

Nah I have the steam version, and it should be patched automatically. My post was if there had been a patch, which had been applied and causing all those new crashes. Not much we can do bout it though.

Hmm well this helps, mainly hope they work on the lag issues. The weapon balance fixes might be ok so other weapons are getting used, and for the noobs who have not yet unlocked the powerfull ones, but besides that, Imo, the m60, ak94, gustav and mortar strikes give every perky OP status, cancelling out the problem.
Anyway bit bored of the game atm, Proh dragged me into Dragon Age.
Ah, you and Proh started Dragon Age ? I'm alternating a bit between Dragon Age and BFBC2. I've just passed the climactic battle at Osgolololol, but can't be arsed to play more then 1-1,5 hours per session since the battles are very repetitive (this has been a problem with all bioware rpg's). Story and character interaction are cool though (this has been awesome in all bioware rpg's).
Some very nice changes indeed .... also the 15 sec wait before the game starts is good. Too many times one of the M-Com stations is already destroyed before half the team loaded.

They're being vague on purpose it seems :

Make sure you do all shit in Ostolololol before you go any further on the mainplot.
As the village will be wiped out as soon as you leave it for the mainplot.

I worked my little arse off for minimum wage.. admittly I got a little stressed.. but I was not rude and while at my break I took the time out to chill and came basck to work clear headed and ready for more work.
Monday was my day off.. and when I was just leaving the house to go see some friends, there was a hand delievered letter on the door mat stating that I had failed my probation period and my employment was terminated.
Im proper pissed off and gutted.. It was a crap paid job and VERY hard work.. but I was proud to be back in work..
Im gonna crack open my own personal door way to hell on sunday after I have collected my final wage packet and recieved any personal items left there. I will speak my mind and then they will see what stressed is... (hopefully I can make someone cry !! )

Sounds like you worked hard and fullfilled the job requirements. Aren't they obliged to give proper reasons for the termination ? Seriously, three weeks is a ridiculous timespan to let someone go.

What actually was changed in R10 client?
Dont know if some1 has this problem I had with R10 client: lots of lag spikes, spawning took like 10seconds after clicked button, horrible rubber banding. I deinstalled AVG and installed the 10.4beta Ati drivers.

no update,s on wapons were gave out, kinda like a plasibo...keeps us quesing......
and yes, i got also lagspikes, mostley when enetering battle..
it's all about here heart... ok its partly about that asssss

Loving this: I get noobtubbed much less (wunderbahr!) and I die much less when some idiot shows up next to me and I have to surgecly insert a gustav in him. I use to end up with 40points a lot, now it's back to 50 \o/
tbh this whole patch worked out perfect for me.
Havent had any issues besides when slightly before respawning i see alot of FPS lag, but its never there after i actually spawned, so definately no issue when it comes to gameplay.
Splash dmg from the CG has reduced... i havent noticed it.... yesterday i shot 7!!!! people with 1 rocket :D

Ah imba, will try it when i get home, that should fix the small issue i hope.
The 7kill was just hilarious, i suspect 2 squads spawning on their squadmate sitting next to bombspot A.. i just shot and prayed.
