Trying to keep shields up on the entire raid is a strategy that we think A) is too good, and B) isn't fun. I think a lot of the players who think it is fun feel that way because it's overpowered, not because it's a really engaging activity. When your decision making consists of cycling through targets and casting PW:S on any target without Weakened Soul, then you aren't really responding to the encounter -- you're acting like a glorified macro. Now maybe some of you will argue that you take a lot more into consideration before executing a pre-heal, but the fact is that Disc priests can be unbelievably effective without doing so.

This is exactly the reason why disc priest is so boring to play, while at the same time you can't afford not to use one because they are so damn effective. When I play disc I just spam shields on everyone not affected by weakened soul, alternated with PoM on the tank when it's of cooldown.

And disc's problem is that it is just the most effective way to play, at least in 25's. It's arguably pretty cool to be overpowered, it's depressing to be a single button class.

Good to see Blizzard is at least aware of it, hope they fix their shit in Cataclysm.

Nice. :)
Probably fixed by making sure the Weakened Soul effect is on the caster and not on the recieving end. So that you can only shield one person. ;)

Funny.. till I have read the end... the flowchart was not written that good.
There should be a cycle where it said: "Is boss dead" and then return the arrow to mangle if no.
