View Full Version : Pizza's and Myca's motorcycle topique ;)
Part 2! :)
Im making plans for this summer... I allready decided I want to go with my parents to Luxembourg for 3 weeks this year. But because I wanna see REAL mountains this time (last time I was 10 years old and can barely remember) I decided to travel from Luxembourg to the Swiss country for a week (so 1 week luxembourg -> one week swiss -> one week Luxembourg) and try take some alp roads.
Pizza, since you live in that neighbourhood. Can you tell something about it to me? Is it save for motorcycle's?
Thinking around here:

Ciao Bart!!!
I don't know how's the streets from Luxemburg to Swiss... if i were you i would to the shortest street to Swiss and raid all the days in Swiss .... over there is imba everywhere you go.
If you want me i can come along and ride with you!!! :>
Let me know!!!!
Soon i'll go to order the FZ1, and will be like this one:
http://www.motoblog.it/galleria/big/yamaha-fz1-e-fz1-fazer-gt-my-2009/4
So i guess i'll have it around the 1st 10 days of June ..... IMBA SHIT :D.
Nice man!
Yeah! It would be imba to ride together with you :)
But I hope you dont mind that we stop sometimes for the beautiful scenery and my other hobby (photography of beautiful scenery of pizza's going through a corner).
Haha ;)
But ofc man! Would be imba. For the road... it will probably be alot of highway to skip time... maybe in the German Voghezen I will do so imba curves... but for the rest: Highway.
Would be so awesome if I could ride with you there!!!!
I am in Luxembourg between 19 Juli and 7 August and will prob want to go around 24-27 (maybe longer) to Swiss. What suits you better? Can you take free for it or you want the weekend? Roads in Luxembourg are hill like but very nice... I want to see REAL mountains :D Not the big hills (not rly mountains but high as well :D ).
Ps. beautiful bike!! love the colors!
Talk here pizza!!!
My next bike is gonna be a Honda VFR 800 VTEC
http://pictures.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-reviews/honda/2009-honda-vfr-800-interceptor-ar65076/IMG/crop/200810/honda-vfr-800-interc-2_1280x0w.jpg
or a Aprillia RSV Mille 1000CC
http://www.arpem.com/motos/modelos/aprilia/flash/2007/aprilia-rsv-1000-r-factory/aprilia-rsv-1000-r-factory-ldn.jpg
id go fro the Aprilla, it looks more motor :D
Thats the funny part :) The Honda is from the inside more motorcycle :) Although the VTEC thing is one of the stupidest things they could do.
Sounds on both are awesome!
Mille: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsVy7axvVkE
VFR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7BMg3_PsSw or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mi2odIZU7s&feature=related
Pro's and con's:
Mille
Pro
More ground clearance
A real twin!
Twin cams (dual exhausts)
Wheelie machine
Very hawt and has a large poser factor
Not many have one (at least in Holland)
Cons
More maintanance
Italian, so longer waiting time for parts and probably more parts needed then the Honda ;)
Uses more gasoline probably (in contrary to the Honda)
Less worth after 50k kilometers... while the Honda can keep up with the price.
Probably will lose my drivers license while making a wheelie
VFR
Pro
The best of both worlds! (twin and 4 in 1 line)
Honda, so reliable
Can ride up to 300k easily
Suitcases!!! And they can be detached easily, so no ugly suitcase rack on your motorcycle for the rest of the year!
Seatpipes
Better suitable for very long trips and vacations
Cons
uses more gasoline then my current bike.... but has a bigger tank so /care ;)
Less sporty (more sport touring)
Less ground clearance
Gonna be replaced soon by the V5... IF it ever comes out
VTEC!!! stupid system, who wants to double valves per cylinder in the middle of a corner.....

Bart, i'd like to know if u wanna ride with me in Swiss 4/5 days or a week (i don't mind). This summer i am kinda free and i wanted to trip around with my bike, even alone. My plan was to come up there in Holland and then leading somewhere in France/Germany, or if i feel like, going to Scotland (a lot of ppl told me is an imba place).
If u want, just tell me the period u wanna go and we can go together, riding, sleeping under trees, eating like pigs and pwning turns with uber kneeldowns (u must teach me your secrets noob!).
Anyway i am open to everything, main thind is riding in imba places, anything else doesn't count.

Yea sounds cool!!!!!
I plan on going 4 to 5 days, but may stay for a week there :)
I have 3 weeks holliday and I am in Luxembourg for 2 weeks and 1 week then in Swiss.
You prefer camping? Or Hotel? I dont mind... hotel = no lugage during riding and camping = alot of luggage
Schotland... I REALLY want to go there as well :)
It really must be an imba country.

I don't mind Hotel as well, camping is crap and i don't wanna camp in the only week of holidays i have in 1 year.
I just need to know the days and the month for asking holidays here in office, but that won't be such a problem. The only issue i might have is if we choose some days near the Board Meeting my company will have in august, but i can prepare all the documents in advance before leaving, so is not a big issue as well.
So just let me know the days, i'd say we go mainly in Swiss, Scotland would be nice but we need to plan it really good, and i don't know if, for staying there only a week, worth the effort.
If 1 week in Swiss is too much we could spend a couple of days on Dolomites, we'll see.
I'll start thinking some planning then :D.
Im in love!!!
I did two testrides today on two KTM machines... the KTM SM-T and the Adventure ABS. Both VERY awesome bikes and the testrides where far to short! I know for sure this type of bike is the one I want for a next bike :)
SM-T
http://www.rbmotoren.nl/images/motoren/ktm/supermoto/990_SMT_09_detail.jpg
http://rs5.ktmnewsclutch.nl/m/magstream/ktmnl/rs5/assets/rs5/9099_990_SM_T.jpg
Adventure
http://www.madpedals.com/files/KTM990Adv2009.jpg
http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/gallery/2009-ktm-adventure-r/2009-ktm-adventure-r-4.jpg
IF it will be a KTM I am not sure which one to pick.... they are both so imba.. but im leaning on the Adventure
SM-T
+ Fabulous seat!
+ dashboard
+ steering was a bit sharper in the corners
+ the gas valve was better controlable
+ design
- no suitcases availible, only sidebags
- no possibility for a tankbag.
- no ABS
Adventure
+ same seat as the SM-T but with more leg space.
+ compartment for my wallet, phone, keys and more!
+ ABS
+ more suitable to go offroad as well!
+ SUITCASES!!!
+ better suspension
-compartment isnt lockable
- controlling the gas valve to be smooth is a bit harder
- more expensive
- ugly mirrors.. .they will ahve to give me the one's from the SM-T
Both are awesome bikes!!!! The corners went better with the SM-T, but the Adventure wasnt bad. it is probably the street tyres on the SM-T and the allroad tyres on the Adventure.
My first choise: the Adventure, but the SM-t isnt far behind!!
ImArespectlessFucktard
03-06-2009, 10:36
Both are really nice Myca..... let's talk about prices, how much do they cost??
I don't remember which one the friend of my borther has, i think is the SM-T, is imba!!!!
I am in the shit man ..... i keep on changing idea about the new one to get .... now the trade off is beteen Honda CB 1000 R:
http://www.motociclismo.es/rcs/noticias/2007/11_Nov/0611-hornet-1000-1.jpg
And Yamaha FZ1
http://static.blogo.it/motoblog/yamaha-fz1-e-fz1-fazer-gt-my-2009/big_yamaha_fz1_2009_02.jpg
Wtf i do???? I really like the CB 1000 R, even if the exhaust sucks ballz!!!
Dutch people get screwed by their goverment. The SM-T is 13800 euro in the Netherlands and 9900 euro in the UK. The Adventure is 15800 euro in the Netherlands and 10990 in the UK.
:(
You can replace an exhaust, so I really think you shouldnt decide on that.
I like the CB the most. Why? It is a Honda! The engine can go for 100.000 km EASILY. The rims are more awesome. For the rest: Try them both out at a dealer :)
ImArespectlessFucktard
03-06-2009, 12:03
- Wtf u pay 30% more those 2 bikes??? How Come???
- for the exhaust of the CB: i don't think i can change it right away becouz i would loose the guarantee on the bike. At least i should w8 2 years i think, but atm i don't know if Honda gives the same guarantee of Yamaha (which was 2 years).
Anyway i like the CB 1000 R more as well :P.
But i have some thoughts also about the Kawasaki 750, a friend of mine had it and is nice .... also in this case tyhe exhaust if really ugly, Euro 3 thingy.... but so sucky
http://www.adesivi-moto.com/immagini-foto/kawasaki-z7502007-nera.jpg
http://www.moto.it/provemoto/5763/01.jpg
How can you loose the guarantee because the exhaust is changed? That is bullshit..that is ONLY the case if the damage to the motorcycle was done BY the exhaust. And that is impossible.
I have guarantee on my CBR 600F and it has a BOS exhaust.
Anyhow... in the Netherlands we have a VERY greedy goverment. They said it is for the enviroment (under the caller enviroment you can pull off anything here as a polician) but in truth it is a sneaky way of the goverment to generate alot of income. And then they whine about us not buyingnew cars.
It is sickening how you indeed pay BPM (taxes) on a new car and tha tis it 30% of the new car..
ImArespectlessFucktard
03-06-2009, 14:24
I dunno Myca about the exhaust and the related loss of the guarantee on the bike, as far as i rememb in italy is like i said, but i'll check it. If is like u said a friend of mine already has an Akrapovic exhaust for me :D.
Well the Dutch law says you cant lose guarantee when you replace a part, unless Honda can prove that the damage was caused by the exhaust (zero chance).
Dunno about the Italian ones.... if I take an adventure it will have Akra's as well :D

Here is it, Yamaha FZ8 2010, looks nice. Dunno about perfomance and stuff tho :suspicious:.
Nice! Well... 800 is the perfect middle of 1000 and 600 :)
The weight and handling of a 600 cc and alot of power like a 1000 cc :)
You two are a bunch of naabs, and your dick wont grow above that 2cm just because you own some piece of smelly metal. Even that homeless guy's moped made more impression on me that this BS here.
Aww Smeg... :(
I feel sorry for you! Appearantly your not allowed to ride a motorcycle by your mommy/girlfriend. Poor guy. ;)
Or wait!!! Is it the classic: "I wont go riding a motorcycle, because I know im gonna kill myself" phrase.
Well... anyhow.... reroll a troll.
He already did, this is the result.

The commercial you linked scared me ffs, but gives a really nice message :).
Hmm Pizza, Im in such a doubt man. :)
When Im going to Norway I would love to capture some elements of the trip. Just as a reminder of how awesome Norway was etc... :)
Ofcourse I have my photocamera, but would love to have vids as well. As I want to use it on the bike itself for the footage a normal HD camcorder is out of the question. Too big and it fails too often on a v-twin (vibrations). Plus its hardly weather proof.
So Im looking more into the action cam department. Two really stand out, the Contour HD 1080P and Go Pro Hero HD. Both er are around 250 euro and deliver Full HD (well... at least they claim to give).
http://www.sicklines.com/news-images/1080pcameras.jpg
Both have a big downside... they dont have an LCD screen to see what your filming... With the Go Pro HD you have to aim with some luck. But the Contour HD has two guiding lasers and a rotating lens. THis way, you can mount it anywhere you want in any position. You just have to rotate the lens with the help of the lasers till you have the perfect picture.
http://shop.circuitmotor.nl/shop/images/twenty20/contour_hd.jpg
A problem is that you cant see back the material you shoot, unless you unload it and proces it to video. As a workaround I will buy a netbook. This will function as a storage point as well so I wont have to buy alot of memory cards (a netbook has around 160GB of storage in it). For the Contour, a netbook is required to make adjusting to lighting etc... all are made via software to the camera.
Spec comparison (note the Contour HD 1080p & Go Pro):
http://vholdr.com/contourhd/img/techChart.png
Review with video's:

http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/16/gopro-HD-hero-review-and-helmet-cam-face-off/
For a good idea how the VHoldr functions, you can check their site (better quality vids then youtube).
http://vholdr.com/videolist
Pretty decent videos.
To sum it up...
Reasons to buy a Contour HD:
- Easy mounting system
- Can mount anywhere in any position
- More then perfect support
- Big community
- Good video
- Lots of adjustment possible
- Cool and easy editting software in the package
Reasons not to buy a Contour HD:
- Bad sound at high speed, lots of wind interference
- A bit poor light adjusting
- Takes a bit of practice with settings to get the best results.
- Netbook needed to adjust stuff in the field
Reasons to buy a Go Pro:
- Better sound
- Better video (light adjustment)?
- No netbook needed to adjust settings.
- Water proof (note: for 30 euros, you can make the Contour HD waterproof as well)
- Cheaper memory cards (how important is this? its only an inital investment)
Reasons not to buy a Go Pro:
- Looks like a teletubby as mounted on your helmet
- Less possibilities for mounting
- More difficult to aim
- Less options for lighting, metering etc...
BTW... helm mounting options for both... the gopro just looks a bit.. uhm... weird? ;)
Go Pro
http://www.mxdirtrider.com/i-infrastructure/500-gopro-1.jpg
Contour HD
http://helmetcameracentral.com/images/ContourHD_helmet.jpg
Im torn.... really like the Contour more as shape and mounting options are concerned... but the Go Pro tends to give better sound and might be better in video (but I think they are equal).
Myca you should go in Norway with a bike like one you find in the link above :p.
http://www.yurock.net/motorcycle-madness/
GoPro all the way :D
http://www.goprocamera.com/video
Although specs are better of the other one, GoPro is the best quality and steadiness in nearly all tests ive seen (digged into this a while ago already, wanted to purchase one for windsurfing but eventually didnt:D).
Ye, the GoPro is imba... but still concerned with the mounting options :)
Why you didnt buy it Thierry?
I dont know tbh, i never made the final decision i guess, but looking at all this footage again i tend to do it anyways with summer coming up.
Its a really cool way of camming your adventures other then the oldskool handcam, perhaps the combination and some editing can make you some really cool holidaytrip movies.
Actually im looking forward to your helmetmount video's in norway :D
Saturday and Sunday i was in Monza for the SuperBike, and i saw the exibition of this guy:

It was no big thing. :) Its off-roading, so damage is not that big. It was wet grass in the forest. I was like going 40-50 km/h and my front wheel slipped away.
No damage at all. Well... a couple of laughing friends bruised my ego a bit haha.
